New Tricks for this OLD DOG and Showing you my NEW favorite TOP TIPS!
You learn something new everyday! Let me show you somethings I have started doing in my paper crafting.
Today we learned about some great tips...
Trimmers:
Stick with one trimmer as much as you can for a project and use the same cut line for each cut. So it you cut one piece up to the measurement line, then cut all of them up to the line.... if you like to cut right on the measurement line then always cut right on the line.... be consistent
Get to know your trimmer
And yes sometimes you may need to square up and that's ok!
Scoreboard/Bone folders:
Maymay mentioned that the type and size of bone folder can make a huge difference. The key is to be consistent in your project. If you are scoring using a trimmer score tool, you need to use it for the entire project, the same if you are using a bone folder or a stylus.
Folding:
A great way to get even folds is to use the side of your scoreboard. And "walk" the score line... what we mean is start the fold and then let it naturally find the score line.
Cards mats:
How big you make the mats is a personal preference. Some like an 1/8" border and some like a 1/4"
Here is a great PDF card mat sizing guide: https://bit.ly/3dAcPL2

Lining up card mats and elements:
We suggest using a grid ruler. This will give you a great idea on where to place the mat or element... or you can do what Maymay does and just eyeball it!
Precision Glue Press and glueing:
If you are having glue seeping out...when we first start to glue that is the strongest pressure you put on the press or bottle, it can cause a lil bit bigger bead... try starting a lil bit in from the edge... that first bead will distribute out more and not leak. SEE THE VIDEO FOR A DEMO
Spellbinders Best Ever Craft Tape
Use yellow tape to hold thing temporarily to see if the mat, sentiment or the element will work in a certain spot. This tape is also amazing at hold die in place while running it through a die cutting machine. AND you can use a piece over and over and over!
Laminating Photo Mats:
Laminate photo mats is all the sizes that you use in folios and albums! This is a great way to see if a photo will fit on a page or in a pocket/tuck spot
This also wa great tool for scrapbook layouts!
Acetate Layout Guides
Do you find it hard to figure out where to cut a pretty piece of paper to showcase the image? Mystery cards not your thing? We have a great solution.... Maymay took acetate cut in various sizes for her folios to see where maximize the gorgeous images. And her and Shannon thought why not do that for for cards too! Cut card base sizes and layering panels! This way you can place it on the pattern paper and see where you want to cut!
