Good morning y’all,
Since Easter is upon us I decided I would showcase mom and make a card to let her know how much she means to me.
This card is going to be your standard A2 size card (4.25 x 5.5). The first thing that I did was cut down the card base (110lb blue cardstock) and the mat as well (fuchsia) paper. I then used my Martha Stewart mini scoreboard to score the card base at 5.5 inches to create a top folding card.
For the inside of the card I used the vine from Maymay’s stamp set Garden Party and used my Stamp Perfect and some Versamark ink to stamp the vine on the top and the bottom of the card base. I then added some gold embossing powder and heat set it with my heat gun. I then used the sentiments just wanted to know and you mean so much to me from Maymay’s stamp set called I wanted you to know with some memento tuxedo black ink.
I then went ahead and used my WRMK corner rounder crop a dile and rounded the edges of all four corners of the card base and card mat. I then took my Martha Stewart branch punch and punched out a handful of the branches using some white cardstock. Once I was finished with that I took my peeled paint distress oxide ink and used my ink blending tool to dab on the ink over all the branches. (Tip: 110lb cardstock is too thick for this punch to handle without having to use a lot of hand power).
I then took my round acrylic block and with a white colored pencil, I slightly traced out a circle towards the top of the card.
I went ahead and used my art glitter glue and randomly adhered the branches down around the white circle on the card. Once that was complete I took the sentiments hello and mom from Maymay’s stamp set called just to say hello and used my stamp perfect and some Versamark ink and stamped it under the wreath. I then used some black glitter embossing powder and heat set it with my heat gun. After that I used the rose stamp from Maymay’s Garden Party stamp set and used some white card stock and then stamped it out with some worn lipstick and fired brick distress oxide inks. I then cranky cut (my version of fussy cutting) the roses out and used some foam squares to pop them up over the wreath.
For the final touches I did a triple bow with some pink twine and placed it on the top of the wreath. I randomly placed some of my pink champagne sequins on the card. Lastly I took my spectrum noir sparkle clear pen and put a little shimmer on the roses.
This completes my card for today and I want to extend my gratitude to all the moms out there especially my own mom that you are truly “Superstars” and we all love and respect what you do day in and day out. Until next time have a blessed day.
