maymay's pictorial design team Three framed folding slimline card
Today Robin brings you a beautiful Three Framed Top Folding Slimline card for
Christmas. Here's a fun way to utilize the paper and the stickers from the Echo Park Away in the Manger Paper Kit and put together the perfect card for the holiday season.
Supplies:
Echo Park Away in a Manger 12x12 Paper Kit
Gina Marie Designs Scalloped Square Die Set
Directions
1.Cut white cardstock 8 1/2 inches by 7 inches. Score on 7 inch side at 3 1/2 inches. This is the card base.
2.Choose the two different sheets shown from the Away in a Manger Paper, these will be used for matting on front of card. Cut bottom layer at 3 1/4 inches by 8 1/4 inches, Cut top matting layer at 3 inches by 8 inches.
3. Next to make the frames. Using the Gina Marie Designs Scalloped Square set, I chose the dies from the set that were next to the smallest size, put the smaller one inside the bigger, lined them up on the white cardstock and then adhered with a piece of low tack tape or washi to keep them in place when putting them through my die cutting machine. Cut 3 frames.
4. Lightly brush and ink all edges of frames and outer edge of card base with distress oxide ink in fired brick.
5. Assemble the pieces. Glue the top matting layer to the bottom matting layer. Place dimensional foam tape on the perimeter of the bottom layer. Remove paper and expose adhesive, center and place on front of card base. Add dimensional tape to bottom perimeter of 3 frames and place on top layer as shown in finished card.
6.Use sticker sheet in paper kit to fill frames with images. Apply cornstarch or embossing static tool to make stickers not sticky. Add a piece of dimensional foam tape to each and place and center in the three frames on front of card. There are also great choices to add a sentiment to front of card. I chose the "rejoice" sticker to fit the bill.
7.To finish the inside of the card, I cut a border strip from scraps of the paper used for the bottom layer, 1/2 inch by 8 1/2 inches and glued it near the bottom and finished with the sticker "Luke 2:11".
8.To finish the outside and give a cohesive look, I used Nuvo drops in ruby slipper and added some drops to the frames as shown.
That's it! The end result is a beautiful messaged card, perfect for Christmas. Have you tried this project? Upload your pictures in the Customer Gallery or post on Instagram using #maymaymadeit.
