This fun lil mailbox explodes with tons of space to write all your heartfelt Valentine messages and plenty of room to add those sweet treats!
Base Cuts:
- Base: 5” x 5” - Legs: 1” x 2”
- Base: slice with chipboard trimmer at 1/2” on all 4 sides
- Legs: slice with chipboard trimmer at 1/2” with all 4 legs
- Cut corners away on base, not needed
- Fold around all the way and glue legs to base corners
Explosion Box:
Paper needed: 12” x 12”, 10 1/2” x 10 1/2”, 9” x 9”
- 12” x 12” - Score at 4”, 8”
- Turn score at 4” , 8” - 10 1/2” x 10 1/2”
- Score at 3 1/2”, 7”
- Turn score at 3 1/2”, 7” - 9” x 9”
-Score at 3”, 6”
-Turn score at 3”, 6”
Cuts:
- 12” x 12”
-Slice in ditch of score line to first cross line
-Turn and repeat -Turn and repeat
-Turn and repeat -Fold and crease the cuts
-Corner round with 1/2” on the top pieces
- 10 1/2” x 10 1/2”
- Repeat above steps from 12” x 12”
- 9” x 9” - Repeat above steps from 12” X 12”
Assembly:
- Lay 12” x 12” layer down
- Put 10 1/2” x 10 1/2” layer on top and center it. You should have 1/4” all the way around
- Put 9” x 9” layer on next and glue it down
Lid:
- 6” x 6” piece paper
- 4” x 8 1/2” piece paper
- Score 6” x 6” at 1”, 5”; turn score at 1”, 5”
- Fold and score all the way around
- Slice away score line then make angle cut on all 4 corners - Glue corners together to create top
Mailbox Top:
- Glue 4” x 8 1/2” piece to one end of the lid
- Curve other side over and glue to opposite side to create top of mailbox
Assemble:
- Add glue to base and put album on top
Decoration:
- Gingham Skirt - 4 1/16” x 1/2”
- Black layer - 3 1/2” x 2 1/2”
- White layer - 3 1/4” x 2 1/4”
- Red layer - 3” x 2”
- White layer - 2 3/4” x 1 7/8
