IG Alumni DT project created by Candace Gillespie

Ahhhh... Fall is in the air... and in my heart! Here is a little memory keeping project for y’all this happy Tuesday!

Supplies:

- MMI Stamp Set, “Blessings”

- Versafine Black Onyx Ink
- Distress Ink in Vintage Photo
- Mini Ink Blending Tools
- Art Glitter Glue
- Foam Tape
- Yellow, Green and Orange Cardstock
- Bling from my stash
- Chip Board Letters from my stash
- Gesso
- Watercolor Paints
- Scrap Burlap (I get mine from a local coffee shop that sells coffee sacks for $5... yes please!)
- Free printable PDF when I google searched Free Printable Large Leaf Template. Lots of leaf images showed up.

Process:

Step 1: Print out leaf template. Trace it onto desired colored cardstock and cut it out (I am sure a Cricut would be amazing here but I don’t have one yet so this was my process ;D) . Distress edges using Vintage Photo and Ink Blending Tool. Spread Gesso (or white acrylic Paint or something opaque) over area planning to have colored splatters, this is so the colors will be more visible. Add paint splatters and smooshes where ever you’d like. Set aside to dry.

Step 2. Stamp leaves from MMI stamp set, “Blessings” onto colored cardstock using Versafine Black Onyx Ink. Fussy cut them out. Distress all the edges using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a Mini Ink Blending Tool.

Step 3. Layer up photo onto burlap and scrap paper, also distressed along the edges. Add foam tape behind.

Step 4. Begin assembly. I started by sticking the photo where I wanted it - off the the right. Next I added the leaves, layering them using foam tape, into three separate clusters (more appealing to the eye). Then I added bling, all over 😀. Then the letters to spell “nertz” and a little journaling.

Tada! A super festive memory page! I cut out many large leaves and plan on making this a leaf shaped album to display during the Autumn season. My whole family gets together for Thanksgiving under one roof for a week every year, so this will be a book full of sweet memories for sure!

As for the game of “Nertz,” it’s basically where a bunch of people play their own solitaire game but play on each other’s aces which get placed in the middle. A very fast paced and fun game! The one who is out of cards first yells, “NERTZ!”

I hope you have been inspired to keep some sweet festive family memories using some sweet festive leaves from Maymay’s sweet festive stampset, “Blessings.” Happy crafting crafty friends!

Blessings!
