Hello y’all,
Dad, Father, Pop these are all terms we use to call that special man in our live who molded us and taught us how to fish, change a tire and BBQ. Today I’m giving back to these men by making a fun and simple father’s day card.
The first thing I did was cut down a standard A2 size top folding card base with 110 lb. black cardstock. Then I went ahead and cut down two mats each in both gray and white cardstock and used my We R Memory Keepers corner punch to round the corners. I went ahead and used some black soot distress ink and some iced spruce distress oxide ink and smooshed it on some acetate and sprayed it with some water and put it on one of the white mats. I then set it aside to dry
For the inside of the card I glued down the gray mat with some art glitter glue. I then used the brick stamp from Maymay’s Patina stamp set and stamped it using my stamping tool on the bottom of the white mat using the black soot distress ink. I then took the happy father’s day sentiments from Maymay’s Best Dad stamp set and stamped it out with the iced spruce distressed oxide ink. I then adhered that down on the gray mat.
Once my smooshed ink panel was dry I used some red line tape to adhere it down to the card front. I then cut a strip of black cardstock to 2 x 4 and ad a gray strip to 1 ½ x 4 and placed then in the center of the card with some art glitter glue.
I then used one of the dies from the Sizzix ornate labels and cut it out on some white cardstock. I then inked the edges of it with some black soot ink. I then cut out one of the word window in gray cardstock and stamped the sentiment you’re the best from the Best Dad stamp set with the black soot distress ink. I then placed two brads in the holes on the word window die cut and then popped it up on some foam squares and adhered it to the card front.
The last thing I did was put some brads in the four corners on the front of the card. Then added another gray card mat on the top inside of the card to cover the back of the brads.
Thank you all for joining me today and I wish all the dads out there a Happy Father’s Day.
