HI Everyone Happy Wednesday To You!
Today we are creating a super cute snowman card with an embossed background.
I absolutely love snowman, there is just something about them that makes you want to smile! Here is a closer look (hopefully) at the embossing!
I love the 3D effect embossing gives to everything. It really makes for a pretty card!
Here are the supplies I used:
Brown Base: 8.5 x 5.5 (score at 4.25)
Blue Front Piece: 4 x 5.25
White Inside: 4 x 5.25
White Hill: 4 x 3
White: scrap for snowmen
Christmas Stitched Shapes Stamp
Twine
Here is how I made it:
First, take the brown card stock, using the Cricut Trimmer and bone folder, crease at 4.25. Fold to create card base, set aside. Using the versamark ink and the snowflake image from the Cozy Snowman Wishes stamp set, stamp the snowflake on the blue piece of card stock. Place white embossing powder over the snowflakes and heat up using a heat gun until the snowflakes appear to be shiny. This can take a few minutes.
Take the smaller white piece (4 x 3) tear in half. (this will create the hill). Stamp the Winter Wonderland greeting from the Cozy Snowman Wishes stamp set with blue ink on the bottom right corner. Stamp the same snowflake image with versamark and the embossing powder on this piece and heat until fully embossed. (I place this piece on top of the blue piece to give me a guide as to where to place the snowflakes.
For the snowmen, I used my Brother Scan N Cut to cut these images out, but you can simply just fussy cut them. (they are super easy) I stamped these on a scrap of white card stock using the black memento ink. Use the blue ink to stamp the buttons and the same black ink for the face. I also used an orange marker to create the carrot nose.
Because we embossed the blue and white piece, they can be a bit ripply and will not lay flat. To fix this, place the sticky strip along the outside edges. Peel off backing, add Art Glitter Glue to center and adhere the blue piece to the card front. Do the same for the white embossed piece, lining it up at the bottom of the blue. I also rubbed the torn edge to give it a more 3D look. Wrap twine (or ribbon) around both snowmen. Place foam square on back and adhere to front of card.
Lastly, use the same blue ink with the snowflake and stamp this on the bottom right corner of the white piece for the inside of card. Adhere to inside.
