Hey Guys,

I planned to do today’s heART video as a live video this morning but I’ve woken up feeling quite puny!  So instead I’m going to write a blog post for you. I pray you’ll understand and I’m so sorry, I was really excited to speak on this subject with you but hopefully typing it will work.

So yesterday I had the privilege of spending some time with some sweet sisters in Christ as my friend Lisa and her mom held a brunch for us.  It was so lovely!

The thing that I valued most was our time sharing what God had done in our lives and encouraging each other that He was still gonna do great works in us and for us.

The thing that saddened me the most was how often we said to each other “we really need to do this more often, but I know how busy we are.”

That really struck a cord with me, I don’t want to be too busy to not enjoy the friends and fellowship and spiritual uplifting that we all shared yesterday.

Busy, busy, busy....then I started to think of my to do list. I have a list a mile long, always!  Just when I check something off, something else gets added. Now don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with lists, I actually enjoy being able to take things out of my brain and file them on my list to remember. It clears up much needed space!!

But, I thought about this, where is God on my list?  What does He think of my list and what work for the kingdom is done on my list?

I want to be sure that I don’t schedule Him or the things He desires for me to be out of my list!

When you sit down to make your next to do list, concously add Him to it. Write down your quite time with Him as a “must do daily.”  List going to church and fellowshipping with other believers as a to do not a “wish I could do.” For even better results, pray over your list of to do’s and let God be your editor.

I pray this makes sense, it was so on my heart after yesterday. I know I’m not the only person out there that struggles with fitting it all in. I just want to do my best to fit all of God in and let Him help with the rest.

I bet you already know the scripture I’m leaning on today!  Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established Proverbs 16:3 ESV

My father-in-law told me that the only problem he had with praying at night, was he fell asleep before getting through his mental list of people to ask God to protect. What a wonderful “problem” to have. His interpeace always amazed me. He would have been 100 yrs old on August 1, 2018.

Thanks for your timely message. You are so right on. We discussed the same things this morning in Life Group (use to be Sunday School). The lesson was to look for the signs God sends us Daily by that got us talking about making time for God.

Then I heard that being grateful increases the “feel good” chemicals in our body better and than an Rx. So make time for God and be thankful, fellowship w other believers and your attitude will improve, you will feel better and have more Joy and Peace.

Thanks again.

God bless you Maymay. You are an inspiration in more ways than one. Always trust that the Lord knows exactly what you need today and He will provide.

Hi Maymay. So sorry to hear you are under the weather. I hope it does not last long. I too am a person of lists and live by them. Honestly, I have never thought of adding time with and for God to the list. Thanks for helping me see I should do that. You are so inspiring even while you are sick. Prayers for a speedy recovery!

Great share. It fit directly with this month’s series “FIND YOUR TRIBE do something you love with people you love.” We are stronger when we don,t isolate ourselves. Ecclesiates reminds us that alone is not good; two is good; but a cord of three strands cannot be broaken. We need ea ch other. Even Jesus had His thred.

Hi a Maymay. I’m glad I’m not the only one that woke up feeling puny today. Thank you for sharing your story. We need to make time for God everyday, because it’s the only way we will be prepared for the darts 🎯, arrows, and storms that come our way. And, fellowship with one another is key to boost us forward. Yesterday, something happened that truly hurt me to the core. The minute it happened, I felt this wrenching inside of me that I was trembling. I haven’t stopped crying since yesterday. I went before the Lord, tearing my clothes in pain and really having a long and strong talk with God and asking why must I always compromise. Being that raw and real with my Lord felt good and that’s what He wants from us. Fellowship with Him when we are in the good and when we are at our worst, because He will then be our strength. Amen.

So sorry your not feeling well, hope it’s only for today.
So many times I think about what needs done and your right, God is no where on the list. And I know in my head it would go so much better if I had started with Him first, but I get so hung up on getting “my list” done that I have forgotten what the Lords list has for me.
Thank you, for this, hope you are feeling better soon. God bless you and your family.

As a “Queen of Lists”, I very much understand. Thank you for this! I’m glad your brunch was lovely. 😊

Thank you for this reminder. We make a list to do everything else, so adding taking time for God makes sense. Of course, we need to put him at the top of the list but something else to add is making sure we add ourselves to the list. In the rush to do all for everyone we need to make sure we do all for us and God.

Thank you so much, Maymay for sharing this insight with all of us. Sure does give us something to think about, doesn’t it? Our lives are so busy that there always seem to be people we want to spend time with, call on the phone for a chat, or send them a card or letter, but time gets away from us and it doesn’t happen as often as it should. My husband’s cousin told his sister, “None of us are promised tomorrow” and two days later he dropped dead of a massive heart attack. (He had not been sick, had just passed a physical with flying colors, had no health issues at all…not even a cold) I am going to strive to actually “do” the things on my list as far as contact with other people is concerned, not just “think about doing it”. Thank you so much for your insight, Maymay. God Bless You

Maymay, first off, I hope you feel better soon!

This post reminds me of one of my favorite hymns growing up: “With the Lord begin thy task. Jesus will direct it”. Putting spending time with God at the top of our daily to do list makes the day go so much better!

God bless, my friend and sister in Christ!
